When AI parcel tracking keeps saying your tracking number cannot be found, do not jump to the conclusion that the parcel is lost. In most cases it is not lost; the number, the carrier, or the timing of the query is wrong. Work through the steps below in order, and you can usually pinpoint the problem within five minutes, with a clear next step even if it still cannot be found.
Step One: Check These Two Things First
Copy the tracking number exactly as given instead of typing it by hand: the letter O and the digit 0, and the letter I and the digit 1, are the easiest to mix up, and spaces or hyphens can also make a query fail. Then confirm the carrier: the same number can give completely different results with different couriers, so the logistics name from the seller, the pickup-code message, and the label on the parcel should all match. For cross-border parcels, separate the domestic leg from the international leg; a domestic number is not supposed to show up in an international search.
Match Your Case: Three Kinds of Not Found
The first is a typing or selection error: a number missing or adding a digit, or the wrong carrier selected, which a repeat check through an official channel can confirm. The second is not yet collected: the seller has just created the number but the courier has not picked the parcel up, so there is no record yet. Wait a few hours or until the next day instead of refreshing repeatedly. The third is cross-platform sync delay: the seller system, the shopping platform, and the courier system update at different times, so the platform may show shipped while the courier website has not updated yet. In that case, trust the courier website or official customer service; a platform status lagging half a day to a day is common. The number format itself can also narrow it down: pure digits, letters plus digits, and similar formats are not interchangeable across companies, so searching by the company name on the label is faster than trying each aggregator in turn, and avoids entering one company's number into another company's system. For agent-purchased or consolidated parcels, also confirm whether the seller gave you the domestic-leg number or the new number after transfer; mixing the two legs will also return nothing.
If It Still Cannot Be Found After Trying
If the number is correct, the carrier is correct, and there is still no record after more than 24 hours, first ask the seller to confirm whether the number was entered wrongly or the carrier was changed, and keep screenshots of the order and the chat. Then contact the courier customer service with the number and ask clearly whether it is not collected, does not exist, or is a system problem. Only if the seller does not reply and customer service also cannot find it should you go through the platform appeal or refund process. Remember the order: check yourself first, then ask the seller, then go to the platform. Do not assume loss at once, and do not post screenshots containing the tracking number in public groups.
