RTX Spark Ecosystem Is Ready: Ahead of the October 16 Launch, NVIDIA Stocks the Shelves for Local Agents

Before RTX Spark laptops go on sale, NVIDIA is handing over the software list first. On October 13, 2026, NVIDIA announced on its official blog that the global PC app ecosystem is ready for the RTX Spark laptops launching on October 16, with thousands of apps, games and models available at launch, and local agents as the headline of this round of updates. RTX Spark itself offers up to 128GB of unified memory and 1 petaflop of AI compute, with full support for the RTX and CUDA stack.

Agents first: pick one at setup, run models locally

According to NVIDIA, RTX Spark shows a getting-started screen at first boot where users can choose and install an agent app, including GitHub Copilot, Hermes, OpenClaw, Perplexity, Pi and WorkBuddy; these apps recommend a local model and configuration tuned for RTX Spark and set everything up in a few steps. Security is handled by OpenShell and Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC) for sandboxing and credential protection, while NVIDIA Switchyard routes agents between local and cloud models. Nemotron 3.5 Bolt 74B-A9B 24GB, purpose-built for agents on RTX Spark, is scheduled for release on October 15, with 74B total parameters, 9B active per token, compressed to 24GB with 2-bit quantization, and runnable through llama.cpp, vLLM, Ollama, Unsloth and LM Studio. NVIDIA PAIR, its personal AI router, also leaves beta in this round and adds llama.cpp support.

Creative and developer tools are not missing

On the creative side, NVIDIA and Adobe have reworked Photoshop's GPU-accelerated compositing and Premiere's playback, rendering and effects pipelines, with up to 2x performance promised; Broadcast 2.3 adds video super resolution and frame generation, and ComfyUI can already use RTX video frame generation and HDR. For developers, PyTorch, Python and the full set of CUDA libraries are ready. For gaming, a faster DLSS 5 model arrives with the launch on October 16. NVIDIA also noted that local LLM downloads are already 5x higher than all of last year, which is the basis for its local-agent bet.

A new platform's first reputation is usually decided by launch software

RTX Spark is not entering an empty market: high-end x86 laptops and Apple's unified-memory machines are already competing for local AI. Hardware specs make it into the press release, but how the first week feels to users depends on whether their everyday apps are optimized, whether agents are easy to install, and whether local models run stably. By publishing its ecosystem list three days before launch, NVIDIA has effectively moved the competition from chip specs to the software shelf. For those still deciding, what is worth watching after October 16 is not benchmarks but early users' real tests of agent and creative apps: if the software is there, 128GB of unified memory is a selling point; if it is not, the big memory figure is just another line in a spec table.
