On October 26, 2026, Apple pushed out the iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, and related system updates, and Siri AI moved beyond English for the first time: users speaking French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish can now use the new voice assistant built around personal context. It is the biggest language expansion for Siri AI since it launched with iOS 27 in September.

More than just a few new languages
In this update, Siri AI can also remember earlier conversations — asking it which restaurant it recommended last week, for example. Its answers can draw on more personal sources, including photos attached to messages, calendar attendees, voicemails, and Safari history and Reading List. A new Excluded Apps setting switches off Siri, Search, and suggestions for chosen apps in one place, and replies now allow selecting just part of the text to copy. Other changes in the same updates, such as action suggestions in Messages and profiles in the Apple TV app, are side notes rather than the main event.
Who still cannot use it
The limits are spelled out just as clearly: Siri AI itself remains in testing, requires a device that supports Apple Intelligence set to a supported language, and, per Apple's published device list, starts with the iPhone 16 series and the iPhone 15 Pro series. In the European Union, Siri AI is not offered on iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS, and mainland China is likewise outside coverage. Users who have received the 27.2 updates should first check that their model and system language are on the supported list before expecting it to remember things like a local assistant — speaking the language is only step one; whether it actually saves time depends on how accurately it understands personal context.
