OpenAI recently announced that ChatGPT's new "agent function" (ChatGPT Agent) is now fully open to all Plus, Pro, and Team users, and can be used directly without waiting for an application.
ChatGPT Agent is an automated task execution capability that allows users to let AI proactively complete multi-step complex tasks including web browsing, form filling, document generation, slide creation, and more. This feature integrates the previous Deep Research and Operator modes and introduces a "virtual computer" mechanism, significantly improving the accuracy and autonomy of task execution.
Currently, Plus users can use it 40 times a month, Pro users can use it 400 times, Team users can use it 30~40 times, and Enterprise and Education users will gradually open it in the future. Users can enable it by simply selecting the Agent tool or typing /agent in the ChatGPT page.
This update marks a move from a conversational assistant to a general-purpose intelligence tool, offering enhanced AI support for content creators, knowledge workers, and automated scenarios.
