1. Background
Released by the Cabinet Office of Japan on March 29, 2019, as Japan's first systematic artificial intelligence social principle program, it aims to guide the development of AI to serve human society and realize the vision of "AI-Ready Society" and Society 5.0.
2. Core Concept
Basedon the three values of people-oriented, diversity and inclusion, and sustainable development, it emphasizes that AI should respect human dignity, promote social equity, and promote the long-term well-being of the environment and society.
3. Main content
- AI social principles: covering seven aspects, including people-oriented, education and literacy, privacy protection, security guarantees, fair competition, fairness and transparency, and innovation, to provide policy guidance for the social level.
- Principles of AI development and utilization: Developers and users are required to follow social principles when designing, deploying, and using AI systems, including risk prevention and control, transparency and interpretability, and responsibility traceability.
4. Social Vision
Build an "AI-Ready Society" that enables all members to use AI technology safely and efficiently when needed, and promote the adaptation of education, systems, and governance systems to the popularization of artificial intelligence.
5. Latest Progress
Upto now, the Principles are still the latest version officially recognized by Japan, and although relevant seminars have been held in the future, no updated text has been released.
