Open WebUI
A self-hosted AI front door rather than another chat box. Ollama, vLLM and OpenAI-compatible services land in one layer with accounts, permissions and knowledge bases; Docker is the easy starting point, and the branding terms deserve a look.
Open WebUI is not the chat window but the front door: local models, cloud APIs, knowledge bases and permissions land in one self-hosted layer that runs on Docker or Kubernetes and talks to Ollama, vLLM or any OpenAI-compatible service. It is also moving toward a platform, with v0.8.10 adding OIDC logout and MariaDB vectors. Paired with a backend agent it stays the front end: the URL needs /v1 and the bearer token must match.
