MiniMax Code is MiniMax's coding agent for developers: it reads and writes project files, runs terminal commands and reviews code, with several agents dividing the work. On 18 September 2026 the company open-sourced it, releasing CLI 0.4.12 under MIT with sources in MiniMax-AI/minimax-code. Version 2.0 was rebuilt in August on the open-source Pi Agent framework.
