On November 2, Alibaba Cloud released Qovest, an AI investment-research workbench, and opened an invitation-only trial to individual users. According to IT Home's November 2 report, a user states a research request in one sentence, and Qovest automatically searches data, gathers material, analyses it in depth and produces a report, and can keep tracking the subject at a set frequency. Its positioning is not one-off Q&A, but a research space where work accumulates and can be continued; it remains in the trial stage, and the full scope of the service and its data coverage have not yet been fully disclosed.
Which steps it takes over for investors
Qovest has an authoritative financial database and uses a self-developed agent engineering framework built for financial scenarios to connect data calls through to analytical output. Its home page offers several investment-research case templates; users can choose their own subjects, set scheduled tasks and connect their own trading notes to obtain visual, in-depth research results. The examples in the report are: breaking down the per-unit value and localisation level of each link in the humanoid-robot industry chain to produce an interactive industry map; and estimating the investment scale of data-centre power facilities, automatically recalculating when any assumption changes. What the two kinds of task share is that they are multi-step and recalculable, rather than a single passage of text.
Trial pricing and limits of use
New users receive points on registration for a free trial, and can later choose a subscription at 99 yuan or 199 yuan per month. The report does not explain the specific differences between the two tiers, how many in-depth studies the points cover, or which markets and securities the database covers. It describes the product as aimed at professional institutional investors while also opening the trial to individual users, and institutional compliance, data licensing and multi-person collaboration are not addressed in the reporting available so far. It can serve as a research assistant, but not yet as a basis for trading: figures in its reports still need to be checked against original financial statements and announcements, and its industry-chain judgements cannot replace investment decisions.
How to try it first, and what to test
Start with a subject you have already researched, and compare Qovest's data, assumptions and conclusions with the material you already hold; then set a scheduled tracking task and see whether, after a financial report or announcement update, it genuinely continues the research instead of generating a fresh, standalone report. Only if it passes both tests should you consider a paid tier; if either is unclear, stay within the free points for now. Alibaba Cloud's previously released agent computer
