Gamma has introduced Gamma 5 in its September–October changelog. The message, dated October 27, 2026 in Beijing time, is that this is no longer just about turning a template into a few slides: an agent is supposed to research and design first, turning a sentence, a document, a PDF, an image or an old deck into a complete, polished presentation within minutes.
The agent researches first, then designs
Gamma 5 starts from whatever you already have and builds the story around it. Slack, Notion, Granola and more than 20 other tools can be connected to bring context in directly, instead of copying and pasting everything together. Describe the look you want, or share visual inspiration, and the style is tailored to your content rather than a generic template. PDF and PowerPoint designs can be carried forward for ongoing use, and edits stay intact on export.
Three small changes with real impact
First, credit balances are clearer: your balance and the out-of-credits state are visible from the home screen and billing settings. Second, PowerPoint exports stay closer to the design, preserving custom fonts, multilingual text, equations, and table emoji and layouts better, while tall charts fit more reliably when Scale to fit is on. Third, previews now match the format: portrait documents, social posts and 4:3 slides each get their own preview, and older previews refresh after you edit.
Who benefits right away, and who should wait
The biggest winners are people under deadline pressure or producing lots of material: one sentence becomes a first draft of the whole deck, and the time saved is formatting time. Still, every page needs checking: facts, figures and line breaks in other languages, and teams with strict brand rules should not hand over a draft unchecked. With clearer credit rules, it is worth working out your own usage before deciding whether to upgrade.
