Can You Use Muse in Mainland China? Check the Four Launched Regions First

AI Q&A • Admin • • 13 views

Muse is not yet usable in mainland China. As of October 31, 2026, based on public reporting, Meta has announced only four launch regions: the United States, Canada, Japan, and Singapore. No timetable has been announced for mainland China. Seeing "not yet available in your country or region" in the app means your account region is not one of those four — it does not mean something is wrong with your account.

The order was: the United States first on September 8, 2026, Canada on September 18, Japan on October 23, and Singapore on October 27. The Japan and Singapore versions also run on iOS, Android, and the muse.ai web version, with some local connector features rolling out in stages. What matters is the account region, not just the IP address: the website opens fine, but switching networks will not clear the message, and that is why. The age bar is 18, and the sign-up page asks you to confirm region and age as shown on screen.

Entry points vary by region: the US launch included chatting inside WhatsApp, while the Japan and Singapore announcements mention only iOS, Android, and muse.ai. Meta has only said a version for AI glasses is "coming soon" — it is not usable yet, so do not plan around it.

Three detours to skip

A VPN will not get around the account-region check and may trigger a risk review. Buying a so-called "US account" or a paid activation service can end with a ban at best and lost payment information at worst. Meta has not confirmed any universally working method for invite codes or early-access channels circulating online, so do not pay for one.

If you are in a launched region and still see the message, first check the region settings of your Meta account and app store account, plus the age information entered at sign-up. Fix them and sign in again.

Only two things can be done now: keep the app updated and watch muse.ai and Meta's official announcements for the availability notice; if you urgently need an AI to handle tasks for you, use a product already available in your region in the meantime. Every new region makes the old "US only" claim a little more out of date — when reading news about it, check the date first.
