Hermes Agent can't see the VNC screen after installing Camofox, so don't use it as a remote desktop tool. Camofox's focus is to provide an automated backend that is more like a real browser to reduce the problem of normal HTTP scraping being blocked by websites; It doesn't necessarily give you a VNC window that you can see at any time.
Confirm what the goal is first
If the goal is "to allow Hermes to open web pages, click, screenshot, and read pages", check if the browser backend is connected.
If the goal is "people watching every step in the browser in real time", it depends on whether you're using Browserbase, CDP, native Chrome, or whether the Camofox container itself exposes visualization capabilities.
How to choose when you are blocked by a website
- Normal pages are first browsed or web_extract by default.
- If you are frequently intercepted by Cloudflare and reverse crawling, consider Camofox or Browserbase.
- When you need to sign in, the local Chrome CDP tends to be more intuitive.
In a word: Camofox is an anti-detection browser backend, not necessarily a VNC monitoring interface.
