If the Gemini Gem you created can be used in normal chats, but you can't find it in Gemini Live, don't suspect that the account sync has failed. Google's current help makes it clear: Gems cannot be used with Gemini Live at this time.
This limitation is particularly misleading because Gems are like "preset personalized assistants" and Live is a voice conversation portal, so many people naturally put the two together and think they should be seamless. However, in terms of the current product boundaries, Gem is more inclined to text and workflow customization, and Live is more inclined to real-time voice interaction, and the two have not yet merged.
So the core you are encountering now is not that the settings are lost, but that the range of abilities is not covered. The most time-saving approach is not to reinstall Gemini App repeatedly, but to enter the entry based on the scenario:
1. When you need to use Gem's custom commands, go back to Gemini Web or the normal chat interface.
2. When you need real-time voice interaction, use Live, but don't expect it to come with a Gem.
3. If you just want to keep a certain fixed style in Live, you can only organize the rules in the normal chat first, and then manually copy the ideas.
Another common misconception is that "the gems I build on my computer will automatically be available at all entrances". Google's help page actually has the limitation already written out: the gem appears in the web, mobile app, and Workspace sidebars, but it does not mean that every interaction mode supports calling it. Just because it can be displayed does not mean that it can be enabled in Live.
So if you see that there are no gems in Live, don't guess by permissions, cache, and region first. Most of the time it just hasn't been made into this portal yet. Treat it as a functional boundary to save a lot of troubleshooting time.
