Why can't you find Relax mode even though you have opened a membership on Midjourney? Don't suspect an account anomaly, many times the reason is very straightforward: you're using the Basic plan. Midjourney officially states clearly in GPU Speed (Fast, Relax, Turbo) and Comparing Midjourney Plans , and Relax mode is only available for Standard, Pro, and Mega. Basic does not have this permission in the first place.
Why do many people misunderstand
Because everyone usually understands "paid membership" as "all functions can be used, but the amount is different". But Midjourney is not that logic. It ties generation speed and available modes directly to the subscription tier, Basic is more like an entry-level level, giving you limited Fast GPU Time and not including Relax for unlimited image generation.
How to judge whether you are the reason
- First, go to the account page to see if the current plan is Basic.
- If it's Basic, don't look for the Relax switch anymore, it won't appear in the first place.
- If you are a Standard, Pro, or Mega and you still can't see it, check again to see if the current environment or settings are still stuck at Fast / Turbo.
It should also be noted that the official distinction is made between images and videos: Relax for pictures can be used from Standard, but video Relax is only for Pro and Mega. Many people think, "I can clearly relax the picture, why can't the video", and this is also the problem. So the first thing to check is not the client, but your subscription file and the current build type.
