Does Claude always prompt you to run out? This is usually not a glitch, but rather its session usage reaching its current limit. Anthropic's official explanation is clear: the Pro plan will have at least 5x usage, and the Max plan will be higher, but the number of messages will change with the message length, attachment size, current conversation length and feature type, and the session-based limit will be reset every 5 hours. Why do attachments eat up the quota quickly?
Claude officially said that the length of the message will include the size of the attachment. In other words, the longer you post and the heavier the files you upload, the faster the quota will be consumed. Many people think it's just a lot of chats, but in fact, large files and long contexts are the bigger consumables.
The most stable official advice
- Try to combine related questions into one message.
- Start a new session to deal with a new topic, don't stick to it in a very long thread.
- The attachment is first disassembled and then uploaded.
If you're a heavy user, Anthropic also recommends putting your data in Projects to reduce duplicate uploads. It doesn't make you "use less", but allows you to break down high-consumption tasks more reasonably.
So when Claude prompts you to run out, your first reaction is not to change your browser, but to see how long your current session is, how big the file is, and whether the 5-hour reset window has not yet arrived.
